Prof. Shi Wenzhong from Hong Kong Polytechnic University Visited our School and Signed Postgraduate Enrollment Agreement
On the April 10th, Professor Shi Wenzhong, Department Head and Chair Professor of Geographical Information Science and Remote Sensing, visited our school. During this trip, Prof. Shi wanted to enroll some excellent postgraduate and sign postgraduate enrollment agreements with CUMT. Subsequently, he made an academic report.
In the morning, the symposium was held to discuss undergraduate joint training cooperation between Hong Kong Polytechnic University and CUMT. Some experts from the two universities attended the symposium. During the symposium, they shared their experience in undergraduate training and the characteristics of their owntraining program. At the same time, they discussed the cooperation model for undergraduate joint training. They expected that the exchanges and cooperation can help them complement each other with the complementary advantages of the inter-school training programs, constantly explore new methods, and actively cultivate outstanding students with international vision and exploration spirit. After this, PolyU and CUMT signed an agreement on postgraduate enrollment.
In the morning, Prof. Shi Wenzhong gave an academic report which title was “Spatial Big Data and Smart City” to teachers and students. He shared the international cutting-edge technologies in the areas of space big data and smart cities, and explored new issues and research challenges with the peers and students. Meanwhile, he introduced their admissions and cultivation features about undergraduates, postgraduates and doctors.
Prof. Shi provided a broader development path and an international academic research platform for our students, which made a good foundation for the cultivation of students and the internationalization of undergraduate teaching. PolyU and CUMT are highly looking forward to further cooperation in the future.
