On October 12-14, 2017, 3S Technology and Application Symposium of Chinese Society for Surveying Mapping and Geoinformation was held in our school. The symposium was hosted by Mine Survey Professional Committee of Chinese Society for Surveying Mapping and Geoinformation, and undertook by CESI of CUMT, Underground Engineering Survey Professional Committee of Jiangsu Society for Geodesy Photogrammetry and Cartography (JSGPC), and NASG Key Laboratory of Land Environment and Disaster Monitoring.
More than 110 representatives gathered in Xuzhou. They respectively came from China University of Mining and Technology, Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Nanjing University, Beijing Normal University, University of Electronic Science and Technology and other 27 colleges; China Coal Technology and Engineering Group, Beijing Graphsafe Polytron Technologies Inc, and City Champ Dartong Company, LTD and other 8 enterprises and institutions. They discussed the forefront academic issues in 3S technology and applications, and the latest developments in the field of Mine Surveying.
During the symposium, Zhiyao Yan, the members of the Party Group of Ministry of Land and Resources with the Deputy Chief Inspector of State Land, Jianshi Shi, the director of Jiangsu Provincial Bureau of Surveying Mapping and Geoinformation, and Bo Liu, the secretary of the part committee of CUMT, were present and gave instructions.
On behalf of the school, Shihua Cai, the deputy Party Secretary of CUMT, delivered a welcom speech. He reviewed the history and achievements of surveying and mapping of China University of Mining and Technology. Then he put forward ardent hopes for the double-top construction of surveying and mapping science and technology with distinctive characteristics.
On behalf of the Professional Committee, Professor Yunjia Wang, the Member of the standing committee of the CPC Jiangsu provincial committee, chairman of XuZhou Committee and thechairman of Mine Surveying Committee of Chinese Society for Surveying Mapping and Geoinformation, delivered an opening speech. He introduced the outstanding contributions of mines and subsurface surveying in Chinese economic development, the origins of Mine Surveying and 3S technologies, the opportunities and challenges of mapping geo-technical new technologies, the prospect of 3S technology and its application. Finally, he expressed his expectations to younger mapping technologists.
The opening ceremony of the symposium was presided over by Changgui Li, the party secretary of CESI, CUMT. Professor Jingxiang Gao from CUMT, the deputy chairman of Education Committee of Chinese Society for Surveying Mapping and Geoinformation, vice chairman of JSGPC and chairman of Underground Engineering Survey Professional Committee , Professor Hongbin Ma from Northeastern University, the deputy chairman of Mine Surveying Committee of Chinese Society for Surveying Mapping and Geoinformation, Professor Yan Jiang from Shandong University of Science and Technology, and deputy director Junhai Gao of China Coal Technology and Engineering Group, respectively presided over the academic reports.
Professor Dazhi Guo from CUMT, Professor Tao Fang from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Professor Yehua Sheng from Nanjing Normal University, Professor Yunhao Chen from Beijing Normal University, Professor Peijun Du from Nanjing University and Professor Binbin He from University of Electronic Science and Technology of China brought 20 excellent reports to the symposium .
The Closing Ceremony of the symposium was presided over by Professor Shubi Zhang from CUMT, the deputy chairman of Mine Surveying Committee of Chinese Society for Surveying Mapping and Geoinformation. He introduced the organization conditions of this symposium and the achieved results, and spoke highly of the symposium and expected everyone to participat actively in the next academic symposium.
At this symposium, experts and scholars in the field of 3S technology and application gathered in Xuzhou to discuss business and achieved the purpose of Widening Academic Horizon and Stimulating Innovative Thinking. It was an unforgettable academic event. The participants generally felt that the academic had a good atmosphere and high academic level. It expanded the influences of the science and technology of surveying and mapping of our university nationwide and achieved the expected goals.
