Helen Foster, Vice Minister of International Department of University of Nottingham, Visited CUMT
On the afternoon of March 16th, the special representatives of the University of Nottingham visited China University of Mining and Technology, which included Helen Foster, vice minister of the International Department, Meng Xiaolin, associate professor of Civil Engineering, and Ma Li, director of Chinese Affairs.
President Ge Shirong met with the delegation. He said that the University of Nottingham is a world-famous university and it’s also one of the most stable partners of CUMT. He hopes two universities will further strengthen cooperation and exchanges. Helen Foster said she is very happy to visit CUMT and is willing to promote the cooperation between the two universities.
Zhang Zhenkang, director of the International Office of CUMT, gave an introduction to guests on the history, leading disciplines and international cooperation and exchanges of CUMT. He also reviewed the history of cooperation between the two universities. Helen Foster introduced the development of the University of Nottingham in recent years and thanked the efforts that CUMT has made to promote the cooperation between the two universities. Subsequently, the two sides carried in-depth exchanges and discussions on outstanding undergraduates short-term study project, doctoral students joint training project and other issues.
After the meeting, the delegation gave a lecture entitled Studying at the University of Nottingham and gave detailed answers to the questions that raised by the students.
